How does the background remover work?

An AI model runs directly in your browser (ONNX). The first use downloads the model once — a few tens of megabytes — and your browser caches it; after that, images are processed on your own device.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. After the one-time model download, your photo is processed on your device and is not sent to our server.

Fine hair, glass and busy edges can come out imperfect, and very large photos may be slow on low-end phones. A plain, well-lit background gives the cleanest result.
