Why does Instagram remove my blank lines?

Instagram's composer strips empty lines and trailing spaces when text is published, so paragraphs typed with blank lines between them collapse into one block. A line that contains an invisible character is not empty, so it survives.

What character does this tool put on blank lines?

By default the Braille Pattern Blank U+2800, a real character that renders as blank space in fonts that support it. You can instead choose a visible dot divider (·) if you prefer a separator readers can see.

Is my caption uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion happens in your browser tab. Your text is not uploaded, stored on a server or shared by this tool, and closing the tab forgets everything.

Will the line breaks always survive on Instagram?

No tool can promise that. Instagram can change how it treats these characters at any time, a few fonts show a box instead of a blank, and screen readers may read the blank character aloud. Check the preview after pasting before you publish.

Do the invisible characters count toward Instagram's limits?

Yes. Instagram commonly limits captions to 2,200 characters and bios to 150, and spacer characters count toward those numbers. The tool shows the copied length so you can check before pasting.

Does this work for bios and comments too?

The same trick works anywhere Instagram collapses blank lines: captions, bios and comments. Story text and some Reels fields behave differently, so test there first.
